Holland's are dwarf rabbits with lop ears
that weight between 3 and 4 pounds. The Holland's temperament and size is perfect for young children, although children should never
handle a rabbit unsupervised. Holland lop rabbits are so lovable, and very sweet! The holland lop rabbit
is the smallest of breed in the lop family. A baby rabbit is called a "Kit" until the age of 8 weeks. From
8 weeks of age to 6 months rabbits are considered "Juniors", 7 months and older rabbits are considered
"Seniors".
I have always loved rabbits and kept them
for pets since I was a young child. I now have 4 children of my own and they also love them! During the past few years
I have grown extremely fond of Holland Lop Rabbits. After meeting Eileen from Max-D Hollands I became very interested in Raising Hollands
for Show/Brood and of Course Pet. I am very greatful to have met her! She is a great friend and a knowledgable
breeder.
Our hollands are kept in our
home where they get plently of love and affection from myself and my children. Their cages are maintained everyday. Our
rabbits are considered family members and we are extremely attached to each and every one! They are accustomed to
children, vacuum cleaners, tv's and steros, along with dogs. From time to time I have Junior Hollands for
sale and on occasion I have Rabbits up for adoption.
It is very important for them to
exercise. To avoid bordom they should be provided with safe, fun toys. A great toy would be a brown paper towel
roll filled with timothy hay. You can also train them to use a litter box. In my experience holland's are
most active during the early morning hours and early evening. This would be a good time to let them out of their housing
to get some exercise. Never leave a rabbit unsupervised! Your pet bunny should be altered between the ages of 4
to 6 months. 4 months for a buck and 6 months or older
for a doe.
The average lifespan of a holland lop rabbit
is 7 to 10 years. Having your rabbit altered, and with the proper
care and nutrition you will enjoy your new bunny for many years to come!
All of our rabbit sales and adoptions go towards purchasing rabbit supplies.
